No One is Too Bad For Jesus to Redeem

Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him. Mark 3:13

“God creates space especially for the rough, the guilt-ridden, and the excluded to belong and thrive in His community. This was obvious from the beginning of Jesus’ ministry, when He made some surprising choices for His disciples.” Tim Gustafson

Tim’s devotional this morning encouraged me greatly in two different ways. First, it’s always nice to know that no matter how deep I’ve fallen into sin, God has provided me a way to turn to Him, bend the knee to Jesus and be brought back into the family. Even though I do not deserve it and it would have been right for Him to turn His back on me as I did Him, He did not. He loved me. He made space for me. He chose me as a disciple and disciple maker. He is a God who truly redeems.

Secondly, it is a great encouragement because it was through men who had no business calling themselves holy and righteous who brought me to know the love of Christ. One of my first mentors was such a man. He loved me. He taught me. He showed me the meaning of grace, mercy and how the Love of Jesus can transform a man. I learned more from him than anyone. He taught me love.

I am so thankful that no one is beyond His reach. Without Bear (my mentor), I wouldn’t understand the gospel to the depths I understand it today. I wish everyone would have a Bear in their life. I wish everyone could see how a life can be transformed the way His life was transformed. A man who developed a relationship with a young boy who lost his father! Thank you Bear. Thank you Heavenly Father for sending your Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross so I might be saved. Through His action, there is no one too far from your reach!

Prayer of the Day: “Dear Father, thank You that salvation is available to anyone who puts their faith in Jesus.”
